quite naturally the universe is working its will through us, i suppose that makes us all travellers of some sort. however, i cannot stay put and wish to explore the world through the clean and dirt, before i die or artificial inteligence takes over, whichever comes first.

Background

Istanbul, straddling two continents across the Bosphorus Strait, is a city where East meets West. As the former capital of the Byzantine and Ottoman Empires, it is steeped in history, culture, and architectural splendor. Highlights

The five highlights chosen for this vacation are: exploring Hagia Sophia, visiting the Blue Mosque, discovering Topkapi Palace, shopping at the Grand Bazaar, and cruising along the Bosphorus.

Explore Hagia Sophia

Hagia Sophia is Istanbul’s most iconic landmark, reflecting the city’s layered history. Originally built as a Byzantine cathedral in 537 AD, it later became an Ottoman mosque and today functions as a mosque once again. Its massive dome, intricate mosaics, and grand interiors showcase both Christian and Islamic artistry, making it a symbol of Istanbul’s cultural crossroads.

Visit the Blue Mosque

The Sultan Ahmed Mosque, better known as the Blue Mosque, is famous for its stunning blue Iznik tiles and elegant design. Completed in 1616, it remains an active place of worship and one of Istanbul’s most visited attractions. Its six minarets and spacious courtyard make it a breathtaking sight, especially when illuminated at night.

Discover Topkapi Palace

Topkapi Palace was the seat of Ottoman sultans for nearly 400 years. This sprawling complex includes lavish courtyards, ornate chambers, and the famous Harem. Shop at the Grand Bazaar
